Blog Post: the pip podcast is finally here!

Get your ears ready!! Periods in Pain has officially launched its very own podcast!

The first episode of the pip podcast is live, where we speak unapologetically about everything that affects people with uteruses! Funky poops, periods, chronic pain – you name it, pip is here to talk about it all with plenty of laughs. Hosted by Veronica Guido and Amanda Thompson, two chronically ill besties, the pip podcast talks about everything women’s health. We hope you are as excited as us to get started!

In this introduction episode, co-hosts and chronically ill besties, Amanda and Veronica, talk about the origins of pip, why they wanted to start the podcast, and some of their own journey’s to diagnosis.

Veronica and Amanda talk about the first TikTok trend that bombarded their TikTok fyp when they first launch pip’s Tiktok (@periods.in.pain): “how to stop your period”. The two deep dive into the variations of these trends, and the plethora of issues they raise, from not educating young girls and women on the harms of substance misuse, the adding to period taboos and shame, and how the trend echo’s the 2000s and 2010s, when many women, Veronica and Amanda included, dabbled in period-stopping by abusing their birth control.

The pair soft-launch a few of their games, playing a round of “period would you rather”, which leads to Veronica sharing a hilarious story of her most recent trip abroad where she may or may not have destroyed a famous art museum’s bathroom.
